Discovery to launch new mystery channel

Discovery Networks Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) plans to launch a new mystery and suspense channel aimed at women, ID Xtra, in SD and HD in 105 markets across the region from the second quarter of 2014.

“There is increased demand and opportunity in the market for factual mystery and suspense content which we have the experience and ability to fill and for this reason we have ambitious plans to roll ID Xtra out to as many as 105 markets across Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2014,” says Paul Welling, SVP, Head of Channels, Discovery Networks Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “Many of our largest operators have already signed up and with drama at the forefront of this channel’s offering, viewers will be kept on the edge of their seat and watching for longer than other channels, as ID Xtra invites them to take a closer look and get under the skin of unsolved mysteries.”
