Sky Deutschland gets Dreamworks Animation rights

Sky Deutschland has concluded a long-term agreement with its distribution partner Twentieth Century Fox for exclusive first run pay-TV and SVOD rights for Dreamworks Animation SKG films, including distribution via innovative services Sky Go and Sky Anytime.

In accordance with the agreement, Sky Deutschland will present a number of top blockbusters over its linear movie channels as well as the services Sky Anytime and Sky Go, which allow Sky customers to watch new hot movies on demand, whenever and wherever they want – uncut and without commercial interruption.

“Sky is the first choice for families and movie fans. Through this cooperation with DreamWorks Animation SKG and Twentieth Century Fox,” says Gary Davey, Executive Vice President, Programming at Sky Deutschland, “we are presenting Sky customers with outstanding animation hits for all ages. And of course, viewers will be able to experience them with complete flexibility via Sky Go and Sky Anytime. Only with Sky!”

The rights package includes The Croods, watched by in excess of 2.2 million German cinemagoers.
