PayWizard to provide platform for BT Sports

BT has selected PayWizard’s subscription and management platform to provide authentication for the BT Sports channels, and to connect BT’s internal subscriber management system (SMS) to Sky’s conditional access (CA) system. With the PayWizard solution Sky customers around the UK and Ireland will be able to subscribe to the exclusive new channels and view them through their existing set top box.

PayWizard is providing BT Vision with a secondary system to supplement its existing technology architecture. This includes a business support system (BSS) and operations support system (OSS). PayWizard’s platform gives BT access to BskyB’s entire subscriber base for its BT Sport channels.

“Extending audience reach without compromising content security is one of the biggest challenges facing premium content broadcasters today,” say BT. “As a sports broadcaster with high value properties like premier league football and rugby union this is especially true. PayWizard was chosen as a trusted provider and one that has knowledge of the industry.”
