Network Ten’s first steps to “TV Everywhere”

Network Ten, the Australian commercial television network, has just officially launched its newest catch-up TV app, Tenplay, the beginnings of its “TV Everywhere” strategy, its intended transition from traditional television to a multiscreem, multiplatform service.

The Tenplay service will be available using laptop, tablet, and smartphone devices, although the desktop/laptop version is out as-of today (along with the iOS app and the Sony Bravia streaming app), whereas the Android version will be unveiled later this year. Network Ten have also promised that the service will also be available on hybrid broadcast broadband TV services later on in the year.

Tenplay customers will allow users to create customised playlists, and also integrate social content, live content streaming and an EPG for people to schedule their viewing habits.
