Danish IPTV interest grows

Increased interest by Danish consumers in IPTV was confirmed this week, when the country’s leading telco TDC confirmed a rise of 7,000 in its subscriber base between April and June.

But TDC cable subscriptions fell over the same period, with the company’s YouSee cable service reporting a drop. Despite its loss of 6,000 TV customers during the last quarter, revenues rose by 3.4%, TDC confirmed, because of an increase in subscription fees.

The company said the increase in subscribers for IPTV service TDC TV was boosted by an uptake in mobile customer sign-ups to the company’s HomeTrio bundle.

This helped the company increase its TV revenues by 6.5%.
