Eurosport player app comes to Xbox

UPDATED: Sports broadcaster Eurosport has developed a player app for the Xbox 360 games console, bringing live and on-demand sports coverage to living rooms across Europe imminently.

The Eurosport Player app will become available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in Poland, the Netherlands and Sweden in the coming weeks, then in another 17 countries later this summer. This will bring its total launch market to 20 countries and 13 languages. It will not however be available in France.

It will offer live simulcasts of the Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels, catch-up services across a range of programmes and live bonus content on selected events through multi-broadcast feeds.

Events available this year include the US Open Grand Slam, the MotoGP Championships, IAAF World Athletics Championships, Women’s UEFA European Championships and the German Bundesliga.

No word is available yet on monthly subscription charges, although potential Xbox Live subscribers will be offered an introductory 3-month subscription offer to the Eurosport Player app when combined with a 12 months Xbox Live Gold subscription.
