Elemental powers Teleste OTT solution

Finland’s Teleste, a provider of infrastructure equipment for the cable industry, has formed a channel partnership with US firm Elemental Technologies and announced that the latter will power the Teleste Optimo OTT solution.

The agreement sees the creation of a complete multiscreen solution for managing and distributing TV channels and interactive services on DVB, IPTV and OTT networks, for delivery to set-top boxes, tablets, PCs and smart phones.

Speaking at a press event in London, Elemental’s VP of marketing Keith Wymbs added that his company has improved its HEVC software codec implementation to support 4K/H.265, and now supports 1080p HEVC at below 2.8 Mbps.
