Comcast simplifies TV Everywhere logins

US cableco Comcast has significantly improved the login process for its TV Everywhere services, enabling customers to automatically login to the website with a new technology called ‘Home Pass’.

Writing on the Comcast blog, Matt Strauss, senior vice president of digital and emerging platforms, said that customers accessing the website on their home network will no longer need to sign in, giving them immediate access to its library of over 285,000 video assets (live and on-demand).

The feature was first trialled during the 2012 London Olympics, and is now being rolled out permanently to customers. Comcast is also starting to look at ways to extend Home Pass to other platforms in future, according to Strauss.
