Red Bee Media wins major metadata deal with Canal Digital

Nordic pay-TV operator Canal Digital has signed a multi-year deal with UK firm Red Bee Media under which the latter will provide rich metadata services across Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, which will help power content discovery for over 250 channels.

The deal, which was signed following a competitive tender process, will see Red Bee Media provide rich Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) content, including localised programme descriptions and images, to power content discovery for over 250 channels in five languages (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish and English).

Patrick Tillieux, CEO of Red Bee Media, said: “Canal Digital DTH is a major operator in the Nordic region and we are proud to be selected as the exclusive provider of rich metadata for their next-generation TV platform. “
