Netflix heading to Netherlands in late 2013

Enormously popular online video service Netflix has confirmed that it will expand into the Netherlands towards the tail end of 2013, adding yet another European country to its footprint following its debut in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia last year.

While further details are scarce on this new launch, the company does promise that Dutch subscribers will have instant streaming access to its original content such as House of Cards and Arrested Development.

Netflix now counts more than 36mn members in 40 countries around the world, and last week signed its biggest-ever deal for original content with DreamWorks Animation, ordering over 300 hours of new programming.
