Belgacom’s new IPTV set-top box

Belgian telco Belgacom has launched a new set-top box for customers of its IPTV service ‘Belgacom TV’, costing €225 for existing customers and free to new ones.

The new STB is claimed to have a 30% smaller footprint than the previous model and offer three times the processing speed, whilst using less than half the power in standby mode.

Belgacom has also introduced a new modem called ‘b-box 3′ and costing €99, as well as a new Wi-Fi bridge costing €50.

The telco added 25k IPTV subscribers in the first quarter of this year to reach a total of 1.4mn.
