TeliaSonera signs CDN pact with EdgeCast

Swedish telco TeliaSonera has partnered with US firm EdgeCast Networks to bring new site acceleration and Content Delivery Network (CDN) solutions to its business customers in the Nordic markets.

The agreement is expected to bring bring content closer to end-users and improve network stability and capacity, bringing particular benefits for media and entertainment services delivered over-the-top of TeliaSonera’s networks.

Staffan Göjeryd, VP Product Management at TeliaSonera, said: “Web performance and global delivery of web content are part of the core business of many of our customers, which is why it is crucial that we are able to offer these services. This partnership with EdgeCast means we can now offer global CDN solutions to our Nordic customer base.”

The partnership with Edgecast is expected to enable TeliaSonera to offer its Nordic customers up to three times faster internet services.
