Korea passes 7mn IPTV subs

South Korea has reached the milestone of 7mn subscribers to managed IPTV services, four years after their launch in the country, according to the Korea Digital Media Industry Association.

KT currently leads the market with 4.15mn IPTV customers, followed by SK Broadband (1.58mn) and LG U+ (1.22mn). Around 50k subs are currently being added every week.

South Korea is thought to be the world’s fourth-largest IPTV market in the world after China, the US and France – each of which have already passed the 10mn mark.
