BT Sport signs with Ultimate Fighting Championship

UK telco BT has signed a three-year content deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for its upcoming BT Sport channels, effective  August 1st.

Details are currently scarce – the deal was announced earlier today on Twitter by the two organisations – but will almost certainly involve the broadcasting of UFC fights on the new BT Sport channels, set to launch within the next couple of months.

In addition to UFC content, the telco has already signed a large number of English Premiership football games, Aviva Premiership rugby games, live women’s tennis and more for its new BT Sport channels.

The company has not released its results for the first quarter of this year yet, but had passed three-quarters of a million subscribers for its IPTV service ‘BT Vision’ by the end of 2012 after adding 21,000 customers in the third quarter of last year.
