BT expands BT Vision dev team

UK telco BT has given a strong indication that it plans to keep its ‘BT Vision’ platform, despite the launch of YouView last year, by advertising for a UX designer to work on both.

The job ad, posted on LinkedIn last week, states that the company is “looking for a UX designer to fill an exciting role within BT TV, working with our core set-top box product ‘BT Vision’ and key strategic platform YouView”.

The job spec is for a mid-senior level designer, and requires candidates to have experience working across multiple platforms, including IPTV, with the ultimate aim of increasing sales and usability of its TV products.

BT revealed last week that it had reached 810,000 TV subscribers by the end of March, but remains tight-lipped on whether it plans to operate BT Vision and YouView in tandem, or merge the two.
