TeliaSonera nears 600k Swedish TV subs

Scandinavian telco TeliaSonera added 17,000 pay-TV subscribers across all markets in the first quarter of 2013 to reach a total of 1.3mn, of which nearly half were to be found in Sweden.

The telco adds that the rollout of its TV Everywhere service ‘Telia Play+’ continued in the period, and that the customer base grew for all IP-based services, although cold weather affected the roll-out of fibre.

Total revenues across all operations and markets for the first quarter of this year reached SEK 24.5bn (€2.8bn), down 4.5% from one year earlier, while net income remained virtually stable at SEK 4bn.
