Orange gains 300k subs for Livebox Play

French telco Orange reached the big milestone of 6mn pay-TV customers across all markets during the first quarter of this year, with high interest levels for the Livebox Play set-top box/gateway it launched in February.

The company reached 5.2mn TV customers in France (served by IPTV and satellite), up 14% from one year earlier, and attributes a “significant” improvement for its broadband additions in March to the marketing of the Livebox Play.

In Poland, the telco reached 699k TV customers, again served by IPTV and satellite, with a more modest 5% year-on-year increase in subscribers.
