WatchESPN comes to U-verse subs

Ahead of the start of this year’s Major League Baseball season and various US sporting events like The Masters and NBA Playoffs, AT&T has secured streaming access to ESPN’s linear networks for customers of its IPTV service ‘U-verse TV’.

The ‘WatchESPN’ service offers access to live events and programming from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPNU on connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers and games consoles.

U-verse customers can also enjoy ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater through WatchESPN when those channels are in season.

The WatchESPN service is available via web browsers at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app for iOS and Android devices, and through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members.

AT&T and Walt Disney (owner of ESPN) will be bringing additional authenticated products to U-verse subscribers shortly, including WATCH Disney Channel, WATCH Disney XD and WATCH Disney Junior.

AT&T added 192,000 subscribers for its IPTV service ‘U-verse TV’ in the fourth quarter of last year, reaching a total of 4.5mn in service.
