SoftAtHome powers new Orange gateways

French firm SoftAtHome has been confirmed as software provider for Orange France’s new Livebox Play gateways and set-top boxes, described as the telco’s most advanced STB solution to date.

The deployment includes numerous innovations including HD Voice (CAT-iq2.0), dual Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 Ghz), user self diagnostic tools, cloud gaming, multiscreen support and integration of social networking.

Jean Bernard Willem, head of content marketing for Orange France declared: “With the rapid evolution of SmartTVs and Smart Home systems, we see the demand for more intelligent home entertainment devices and natural user interfaces.

“The new Livebox Play is packed full of cutting-edge technologies, customers will be able to use all their screens to enjoy a vast range of uses, including browsing the internet, playing games and social networking.”

SoftAtHome has already been shortlisted for ‘Best Digital Home Service Innovation’ in this year’s TV Connect Industry Awards for its role in the Livebox Play project – more details here.
