Mexico’s Cablecom adds new PVR features

UK firm mirada has won a contract with Mexican cable operator Cablecom to launch new PVR features on the latter’s TV service ‘Digital 3.0′, including one-click recording, time shift functionality and more.

The new PVR features are built on mirada’s Iris product, and are being integrated with set-top boxes from Chinese firm Coship and conditional access technology from Dutch firm Irdeto.

As a result, Cablecom subs get one-click recording, advanced conflict management, timeshift functionality, dual recording, ability to record series with a simple click, and general recording management.

Marcelo Saccaggio, COO of Cablecom Mexico: “In Cablecom, we are committed to deploying services with cutting edge technology, and this has always been of the utmost importance to us. We are continuously upgrading our equipment, networks and technology.

“With our new world-class PVR features, our clients can now access their favourite programs whenever they want with an easy-to-use and intuitive UI.”

Cablecom currently serves over a million customers, offering triple-play services in the residential and business segments of 16 Mexican states.
