Belgacom adds 175k IPTV subs in 2012

Belgian telco Belgacom saw more strong progress for its IPTV service ‘Belgacom TV’ in 2012, adding 175,000 subscribers over the course of the year to reach a total of 1.386mn.

Sales of multi-play packages continued to do well last year, with 148,000 ordered to bring the total sold to 1.237mn, although they could not fully offset mobile losses.

The telco added a small number of fixed Internet subscribers (46,000) over the course of the year, bringing its total to 1.637mn.

Revenues across all operations remained stable at €6.462bn (+0.9%), while net income fell €45mn to reach €711mn.
