KT passes 4mn IPTV subs

Korean telco KT had passed the huge milestone of 4mn subscribers to its IPTV service ‘olleh tv’ by the end of 2012, up 247,000 in the quarter and 954,000 since the end of 2011.

Included within this total are 1.77mn subscribers for its innovative IPTV+DTS service ‘olleh TV Skylife’, which is up from 1.59mn at the end of September and from 1.195mn from the end of 2011.

Rival telco LG U+ passed 1mn IPTV subscribers last November, up 21% from one year earlier, while SK Broadband is thought to also count around 1mn IPTV subscribers.
