KPN sees TV market share swell

Dutch telco KPN had reached 1.766mn customers for its TV services (delivered via IPTV and DTT) by the end of 2012, up from 1.4mn at the end of 2011 and representing a 23% share of the national television market.

Of this total, there were just over 1mn subscribers for its IPTV service ‘Interactieve TV’ by the end of December, up from 573,000 one year earlier, and 752,000 subscribers for its DTT service ‘Digitenne’, down from 827,000.

The picture is not all rosy for KPN however: total revenues across all operations and markets for 2012 fell 3.5% to reach €12.7bn, while EBITDA fell 12% to €4.5bn.
