Akamai completes Verivue acquisition

US firm Akamai, a global provider of Content Delivery Network (CDN) services, has completed its purchase of near-neighbour Verivue for an undisclosed amount in an all-cash transaction.

The combination of the two companies’ technologies and teams is expected to help Akamai accelerate market availability of its portfolio of operator CDN products, as well as offer federation with its content delivery platform.

Now that the deal is completed, privately-held Verivue (based in Westford, Massachusetts) will be folded into Akamai’s Aura Network Solutions.

Akamai reports that it does not expect the acquisition to materially impact results of operations in the current quarter.
