Sky’s Now TV lands on YouView

Now TV, the new over-the-top (OTT) video service from UK broadcaster BSkyB, has arrived on the country’s new connected TV platform YouView, less than a month after both were launched to the public.

Late last week a Now TV app was added to the YouView menu, giving customers access to all content on the service, as well as a 30-day free trial.

Content is currently limited to Sky Movies titles, but linear channels including Sky Sports are expected to arrive at a later date.

The first YouView-compatible set-top boxes arrived in UK shops at the end of last month, touting catch-up services from the four public service broadcasters behind the initiative (the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five), along with terrestrial TV channels.

BSkyB’s Now TV service is already available on the PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones, and is currently undergoing a phased launch.
