MTS Allstream passes 100k TV subs

Canadian telco MTS Allstream had reached 100,626 television subscribers by the end of June, of whom 94,743 are IPTV subscribers, representing a year-over-year increase of 3.4% in IPTV customers.

IPTV revenues grew 14.5% in the second quarter of this year to reach CAD 19.7mn (US$ 19.7mn), driven by fewer customers on promotional plans, subscriber growth and price increases, which helped drive up Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).

Total revenues across all operations for the three month period reached CAD 431.6mn, down 2.7% on an annual basis, while net profits fell 10.6% to reach CAD 44.5mn.
