BT Wholesale seeks live TV over broadband triallists

The wholesale division of dominant UK telco BT has just put out a request for responses from communications providers interested in taking part in trials of live broadcast-quality TV delivered via broadband networks.

BT Wholesale is currently trialling the delivery of live broadcast quality TV over broadband via PTA (PPP Termination and Aggregation) mode, and plans to extend its TV Connect trial to include a ‘Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol (L2TP)’ variant this autumn.

The company is also interested in hearing from communications providers interested in an “interconnect only” variant of TV Connect, although a trial of this variant is yet to be scoped.

Communications Providers (CP) interested in participating in this extended trial are invited to contact Mandy Bowman ( by Friday 31 August 2012.
