Bulgaria’s Mobitel debuts subscription VOD service

Bulgarian telco Mobiltel has developed a new subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service called ‘Videoclub Max’ in partnership with UK-based content aggregation company On Demand Group.

The new service costs BGN 9.90 (US$ 6.22) per month and offers unlimited access to a variety of popular TV series, movies, children’s programmes and music videos without a long-term contract.

Subscribers to Mobitel’s digital TV service can try it out via Videoclub Start, which will provide unlimited access to a select showcase of Videoclub Max content including some TV series, children’s cartoons and music videos.

This marks one of the first customer wins for On Demand Group since it was sold by SeaChange International to US firm Avail-TVN last May for US$ 27mn – more details here.
