Microsoft to make “major” media announcement in LA on Monday

Microsoft has revealed that it will hold a major media event in Los Angeles on June 18th, adding cryptically in the invites sent: “You will not want to miss it”.

The software giant appears to have taken a leaf out of Apple’s book in the way it handles its big announcements, with no further images or details provided, and a string of requirements placed on attendees, including “limited” still photography and video opportunities.

With the E3 games show now done for this year, it seems unlikely to be directly-gaming related, and the content partnerships Microsoft has recently formed with many of the world’s biggest broadcasters and pay-TV operators have quietened rumours that it is still planning its own à-la-carte TV service.

So what could it be? Leave your thoughts below!
