US firm SeaChange International, a specialist in TV technology and software, has appointed interim CEO Raghu Rau as its permanent CEO, effective immediately.

Mr. Rau was appointed temporary CEO last November after the retirement of company founder, chairman and CEO Bill Styslinger. Since then, he has led an aggressive strategy to focus the company on its core software business, delivering innovative software solutions for video service providers globally in cable, IPTV, and mobile while significantly reducing the overall cost structure of the company.

“Raghu’s leadership and excellent grasp of our business was apparent from the moment he assumed responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the company. In a matter of just a few months, he has dramatically improved SeaChange’s overall operations and its ability to serve global markets, to the immediate benefit of our customers as well as our shareholders and employees,” said Thomas Olson, Chairman of the Board, SeaChange.

SeaChange International provides open, cloud-based solutions and services for back office, advertising, content, in-home devices and broadcast to hundreds of media companies, including all major cable operators in the US, Europe and Latin America.
