Jet-Stream and Oversi team up on converged content delivery system

Dutch firm Jet-Stream, a specialist in Content Delivery Network (CDN) technologies, has formed a strategic collaboration with Israeli company Oversi, a provider of OTT video and P2P caching solutions Oversi.

Together, the two companies plan to provide a converged content delivery solution for network operators which features Jet-Stream’s CDN technology and Oversi’s Transparent Caching (TC), and which can be deployed in many different network scenarios.

“Our recent customer engagements have pointed us to search for a TC partner that would broaden our offering,” said Stef van der Ziel, CEO of Jet-Stream. “We looked for the highest performance, most cost-effective, and easiest to deploy system. The choice was obvious: with its proven track record at large operator networks and the first and only widely deployed Out-of-band caching architecture, Oversi was a perfect fit.”

Jet-Stream won a contract with Norwegian telco Telenor last March, which involves the provision of a new management system for Telenor’s Content Delivery Network (more details here).
