China’s BesTV partners with online TV platform CIBN

Shanghai-based IPTV operator BesTV New Media has signed a strategic partnership agreement with a subsidiary of China Radio International’s online TV platform China International Broadcasting Network (CIBN), according to Beijing consultancy Marbridge Consulting.

The report (here) states that the partnership between BesTV New Media and IPTV operator Guo Guang Oriental Network marks the launch of a comprehensive partnership on Internet television.

The alliance is expected to see the two companies share international video content and “develop a bidirectional system for the exchange of domestic and international cultural content.”

China’s online video scene had a major shake-up last year when rival services Youku and Tudou, based in Beijing and Shanghai respectively, signed a definitive agreement to combine in a 100% stock-for-stock transaction.
