BeeSmart becomes Beenius

Slovenian TV middleware provider BeeSmart has announced that it is changing its name to Beenius today (May 16th).

The new name apparently derives from the Slovenian for “be genius”, and is intended to entail the “possession of considerable knowledge and is the next level up from “be smart”, which indicates a high ability to learn”.

The newly-renamed company will retain the same team behind it, including Matjaž Bevk as CEO, and there is no apparent change in direction planned, away from the development and distribution of products and services in the interactive TV industry.

The company has racked up a number of customer wins across Europe and further afield over the years, including with Kosovo’s PTK, Poland’s WIST, Kuwait’s FASTelco, and BH Telecom of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
